Dear Caledon Coyote Hockey Families:

Reese Meyer is the 13 year old son of Jennifer and Glenn Meyer from Caledon East.

Reese attends Caledon East Public school in grade 8 and plays minor bantam AE Caledon Hawks hockey.

Over the past week and a half, some balance and coordination issues noticed on the ice led Jen and Glenn to seek an assessment of Reese.  This led to Reese being diagnosed with a brain tumour and he is currently under constant observation at Sick Kids Hospital.  He has had two surgeries, one to relieve pressure in the brain and another to get a biopsy - however the tumour itself has been deemed inoperable.  This week the biopsy results should be clear so that a plan for ongoing treatment and care can be established.

Scott and Melissa Lester have offered to help collect donations from anyone and everyone they can reach. They live in Caledon East and can pick up donations this week locally, or donations can be sent to the [email protected] email.  All of those contributions will be passed along to the family and will be used to for expenses such as parking passes at Sick Kids as well as for arrangements for meals for the family.  Scott and Melissa will also be available at the Caledon East Arena all morning on Saturday from 830 - 1130.

In addition, there will be a candlelight gathering at the Caledon East Arena on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 8:45 pm.  We encourage anyone that is able, to attend and show your support for this incredibly brave young man and his family.  The Caledon and hockey communities are close and this family could use all of the love, prayers and positive thoughts that we can send Reese’s way.

Thank you for any and all support that you are able to contribute for Reese.  It is truly appreciated.
