2020/21 Season Update
Dear Members,

The OWHA held a meeting on March 8, 2021 where we were advised that they will sanction acceptable programming for the 2020/2021 season up to and including August 31, 2021.   However, based on the current COVID-19 status in Peel Region and the timelines provided by the Town of Caledon for ice being put back in our arenas, we have made the decision to officially cancel the remaining portion of the 2020/2021 hockey season for the House League only.

Once the costs associated with House League have been finalized, refunds will be issued where a player has paid more than the allocated costs. We note that we are waiting on some information from the OWHA which is required prior to issuing the refunds. Given that the OWHA has extended the season, we will look at the possibility of having “pay as you go” development skates should ice be available.

At this point, we have NOT cancelled the remainder of the season for our Rep teams. If the Provincial COVID-19 frameworks allow and if ice is available, your coach will determine whether to book additional ice. Coaches will be in touch with their players and parents to discuss this further.

Planning has begun for our annual AGM and Executive Elections and this information will be communicated to all members well in advance. Further, preparation has also begun for the 2021/2022 Hockey Season. It is our current understanding that the season will begin on September 1, 2021, however, at this time we do not know what the season will look like. We will provide updates to our members on our website as soon as we receive them.

The CFHA Operations Committee would like to thank you for your patience and understanding this season. While we are disappointed that the season didn’t proceed as we had hoped, we are looking to returning to the ice as soon as we can.

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out by email to: [email protected]

Yours in hockey,

CFHA Operations Committee
